We All Want To Cut the Deficit But Not Cut Anything In the Budget!

Courtney Smith - No Cuts

Nobody wants to cut anything!

Except for foreign aid, which amounts to a pimple of spending, Americans don’t want to cut anything in the budget. Yet we want to cut the budget deficit for the simply sensible reason that it is unsustainable. The US is moving into dangerous ground for debt and deficits.

Politically, I believe that the only possible solution is to cut the whole budget by a set amount, say, 10%. In addition, a total freeze in spending across the board would lead to a balanced budget in just a few years.

  1. Kurt Schoedel says:

Look. America is a declining empire. This is the way empires die. Call it turn over. There is no point whinging about it. The only relevant question for those of us who follow this blog is: How can we profit from the declining empire? How do we profit from turn over?

    All other questions are superfluous.
